EPISODE 12: COPING WITH FAMILY

IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB ON YOUR SPIRITUAL PATH AND ARE UNSURE WHAT IS LEFT FOR YOU TO RESOLVE:
GO SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY

Throughout December I have been presenting “ A shaman’s approach to surviving Christmas” a sub-series of “Path to the divine self podcast” about how we can use the holiday season as an instrumental part of the journey to self-actualisation.

By now, we have seen that the Christmas period is directly aligned to the solstice, a time of diving into the darkness to find resolution and make space to embody more energy and light, allowing us to bring transformation and growth to our lives.

There is no better way to do this than with the help of our family.
In fact, if there is anything about us which is out of alignment, we can trust our families will let us know.

In this shorter podcast episode, we will look at how to not only cope with family during the holidays but use these interactions as a tool for personal growth.
It won’t be easy, but the benefits are exponential.

In brief:
Family is the best for helping us see what is needing to be healed and released.
To best start making the most of that information, start by identifying those people who trigger you:
Uncle, dad, mom.. everyone?

I then propose 3 methods to begin to turn this work into a highly-potent practice.

Method 1:

·       Write down who triggers you

·       Write down what it is about them that triggers you

·       Visualise an interaction which has triggered you and feel the sensations in the body that arise in that moment.
·       Write down the nastiest thing you would never say to this person Feel the release.

·       Then look within you to realise where it exists in you. Sit with the sensations of it.

Method 2:
Energetic merging
Intending to be one energetically with the person who is triggering you, or perhaps your entire family.

Method 3:
Walk the path of the holiday season in meditation.
Begin by finding your centre and sitting in meditation for a few minutes.
Then begin to visualize you are walking through your family experience of the holiday season.

As usual, it is followed by a weekly practice: a 17-minute guided dive into our physical and energetic body using awareness, breath, intention, sound and light.

This is the last episode of 2018.
The next episode will be published on the new moon 06 January 2019.
